Site Map of SoCalGas.com Web Site
Accessibility and conforming to the World Wide Web Consortium's Web Accessibility Initiative are an ongoing project with this Web site.
On a page like this one, a screen reader may notice an early link -- "skip to content." This link provides a quick way to jump past some of the preliminary table settings that a sighted visitor can jump past, but which can slow down a visitor using assistive technologies. The use of tables and layout tables is an issue currently under review. At a minimum, we are attempting to designate data tables properly and use the summary feature to provide greater orientation.
In addition, rather than use a simple BOLD for designating section headings, we are exploring the use of the H2, H3, and H4 designation.
The adjustment of font size can be a challenge for many visitors. The Gas Company's Web site allows the visitor to adjust font size through the browser. In other words, the font sizes are not absolute. They can be adjusted by browser settings. Most of the major browsers allow the user to adjust the font size. Further information is provided at the Web Access Initiative of the World Wide Web Consortium.
We are committed to continually improving our Web site accessibility, and will reflect future efforts on an ongoing basis.
