in one convenient place for the residential new construction builder. Each fact
sheet is an introduction and/or summary of information that may be useful or
interesting to builders who wish to build increased energy efficient and/or
higher quality homes. All provide sources for additional information.
What's in this Guide
There are a variety of
topics covered in this guide. Each tabbed section represents a different topic
of related materials organized into fact sheets. There are 13 sections

This section discusses California's Building Energy Efficiency
Standards also known as Title 24. Topics covered include the role of the
California Energy Commission, changes to the Standards.
This section offers a unique source of information on
technological innovations in the housing industry.
California Home Energy Efficiency
Rating System
The California Home Energy Efficiency Rating System is a Home
Energy Rating System Provider currently operating in California. This section
describes the CHEERS program and offers additional contact information for
those builders who may be interested in Home Energy Ratings.
The Energy Star Homes Program is run by the Environmental
Protection Agency (EPA) and the Department
of Energy (DOE) to promote energy efficient homes. Details are given in
this section about this program and
