We’re pleased to share news of their successes with SoCalGas’ energy-efficiency programs. They’re showing how saving energy can also save money, improve operations and help the environment — all at the same time.
|Palos Verdes Peninsula High School
Palos Verdes Peninsula High School received over $19,000 in rebates for energy-efficient pool covers and a pool heater. They'll save an estimated $25,000 per year in gas costs. According to District Energy Specialist, Kris Stafford, "The rebates cut our payback period on the pool covers/pool heater to less than one year."
|Lucy's Laundry and Drycleaning
Lucy’s Laundry and Dry Cleaning is saving about 4,300 therms a year with four new tankless water heaters installed in June 2013. “We do a lot of fluff and fold and we serve many commercial customers, so we use plenty of hot water,” said owner Gary Slizgi. “The new tankless water heaters are saving me about a couple hundred dollars every month.” SoCalGas provided a rebate of $2,388.
|Westlake Haircutting | Styling, Westlake Village
Westlake Haircutting | Styling received a $188 rebate from SoCalGas for a tankless water heater. “It replaced a 100-gallon storage water heater that took up practically all of our supply room, and it’s cutting our gas bill by about a third,” said owners Sandy and Chris Funcich.
|Sunshine Café, Cathedral City
Sunshine Café received $1,194 in rebates for three new tankless water heaters in April 2013. “They reduce our gas bills and they also save lots of space,” said co-owner Jay Sherman (right, pictured with co-owner Jesse Gottlieb).
