If you're income-qualified, LIHEAP (a federally funded energy assistance program) may help you pay your utility bill. Funds pledged to assist customers of The Gas Company are distributed through local community-based organizations, assistance agencies and certain government agencies. Because CFL bulbs save energy and money, many electric utility companies, as well as LIHEAP, are providing no-cost or reduced-cost CFLs to their customers.
One of the best ways to save energy is to replace your old fridge with a new, energy-efficient unit. Check with your electric utility provider or LIHEAP about refrigerator programs.
