Did you know that The Gas Company provides free appliance safety checks to your gas appliances? This service includes limited Appliance Repair, Adjustments, and Pilot Lighting

Specific timed appointments are available for a $25 fee.

Start Service

Information you should know:

  • After completing the start service form, you will receive an e-mail confirmation of your request.
  • A $25.00 Service Establishment Charge will appear on your first month's bill.
  • To start your service, we require access to the gas meter.
  • If you are a residential customer who is required to pay a deposit to establish credit with the Gas Company, one way to lessen the financial burden is to secure your account with a “guarantor.

Note: Before starting service, you may want to make sure that you are requesting service in an area that is served by The Gas Company.

A list of cities/communities served is available for viewing.

If you do not see your community, perhaps you are served by another utility such as

Stop Service

Information you should know:

  • After completing the stop service form, you will receive an e-mail confirmation of your request.
  • Please allow at least 2 working days notice (Monday through Friday) to close your gas service.
  • If you paid a deposit with The Gas Company, it will be returned to you plus any interest you may have earned. The deposit will be applied to your closing bill, and any credit balance remaining will be mailed to your forwarding address.

Service Appointments (No Fee):

Repairs. Our Field Representative will come to your home and make limited repairs to your inoperative gas appliances. If we are unable to repair your appliance, a general referral will be provided describing your appliance's condition. It is then your responsibility to contact a licensed contractor to repair the appliance or you may need to replace the appliance.

Adjustments. Our Field Representative will make adjustments to your gas burners and pilots.Adjustments can also be made to your oven's thermostat for more accurate oven use.

Pilot Lighting. If your furnace pilot has been turned off, you can make an appointment to relight it. Please schedule this service prior to cold weather to avoid lengthier waits for an appointment.

$25 Fee for Specific Appointments

Specific Appointments are available for a $25.00 fee.

These appointments may be scheduled on the hour or the 1/2 hour between 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Allow 1/2 hour before and after the scheduled time for the representative to arrive (for example, if your timed appointment is at 9:30 a.m., you must be there between the hours of 9 a.m. and 10 a.m.). The $25.00 fee will be charged to you on your Gas Company bill.

Requests for Change of Mailing Address to a Third Party

You may elect to have your gas bill mailed directly to a third party of your choice (billing service, energy management company, energy service provider, relative or friend).

Guarantor Program: Need to post a deposit?  Get a co-signer instead

If you are a residential customer who is required to pay a deposit to establish credit with the Gas Company, one way to lessen the financial burden is to secure your account with a “guarantor.” The guarantor must be a Gas Company customer in good standing with at least two years of established service. The guarantor co-signs for your account and guarantees the payment of any unpaid charges. For more information about this option or other bill payment arrangements, call 1-800-427-2200.
