This winter there is limited availability of natural gas locally. That’s why SoCalGas® is implementing a voluntary conservation effort to promote reductions in natural gas consumption on specific days.
When a SoCalGas Advisory is called, we are asking all Southern Californians to reduce natural gas usage. Let’s Dial it Down.

Wait a day to use major natural gas appliances
Wash using cold water when possible
What is a SoCalGas Advisory?
A SoCalGas Advisory is a voluntary call for consumers to conserve natural gas on certain days.
Why would a SoCalGas Advisory be called?
Every winter the demand for natural gas increases as we heat our homes and businesses. This winter, we are facing limited availability of natural gas locally. That’s why we are asking all Southern Californians to work together to help conserve natural gas on certain days.
What can I do to help?
First, sign up to receive SoCalGas Advisories if an advisory is called, or call 1-800-427-2200 for more information.
If a SoCalGas Advisory is called, you can help by lowering your thermostat to 68 degrees, waiting a day to use major natural gas appliances and washing with cold water when possible.
How can Small Businesses help?
If a SoCalGas Advisory is called, when possible, your business can help by lowering the thermostat to 68 degrees, waiting a day to use major gas appliances and washing with cold water.
There may be times when this is not possible for businesses. So small businesses can also help by taking actions to become more energy efficient. Resources are available, including incentives and rebates on new equipment, benchmarking tools, as well as no-cost equipment services to help businesses improve the energy efficiency of existing equipment. How to opt-out
To opt-out of the Southern California Gas Company's text alerts program, reply STOP. An unsubscribe message will be sent to your number confirming the cancellation, but no more messages will be sent after that one.
