On June 12, 2013, SoCalGas® and Cummins Westport co-hosted a webinar titled “New Engine Technology for Natural Gas Trucks.” This webinar showcased the latest developments for heavy-duty natural gas vehicle engines and provided a glimpse in to the future of R&D to make these engines even cleaner and more efficient.
Scott Baker, director of product and market planning for Cummins Westport, presented on his company's newest natural gas engine, the ISX12 G, which is proving to be a game changer for the trucking industry, with high demand for the engine seen across the country. Cherif Youssef, technology development manager for SoCalGas, presented on the future of advancements in natural gas engine technology and provided an overview of current and planned demonstration projects with these next-generation engines for heavy-duty vehicles powered by natural gas.
