2015 Community Meeting Notes

June

Community Meeting Summary – 6/8/2015
 
Aliso Canyon Turbine Replacement (ACTR) Project Management and Aliso Canyon Facility Management, LA Regional Public Affairs, Media & Communications and SoCal Edison collaborated to provide the Porter Ranch community with an open house presentation focused on Aliso’s overall activities including its main ongoing project (ACTRP). The team helped educate residents about the facility’s latest activities and the Project’s progress. Residents arrived with concerns related to truck traffic and grading that took place for the widening of the road adjacent to the Aliso Canyon Storage facility’s entry gate.
Approximately 15 guests attended and included Porter Ranch residents, a couple of members of the Save Porter Ranch group and Max Reyes– LA Mayor Garcetti’s Field Deputy for the San Fernando Valley. Attendees expressed satisfaction with SoCalGas’ efforts to keep the community informed about the activity at Aliso Canyon.

Aliso Canyon Turbine Replacement Project (ACTR) Management and Aliso Canyon Facility Management, LA Regional Public Affairs, Media & Communications and Southern California Edison Company collaborated to provide the Porter Ranch community with an open house presentation focused on the ACTR. The team helped educate guests about the project, its progress and answered questions related to ACTR construction. Approximately 8 guests attended and included Porter Ranch residents attended.
 

2014 Community Meeting Notes

October

Community Meeting Summary – 10/21/2014
 
On October 21, 2014, we held a community meeting at Wiley Canyon Elementary School in the city of Newhall. Our Aliso Canyon Storage Facility staff and Aliso Canyon Turbine Replacement Project team were on hand to provide community residents with an update on the project and construction schedule and inform them of on-going operations at the facility.
Southern California Edison representatives attended and presented illustration boards for their portion of the project and responded to questions. Two guests attended. The teams responded to questions from David Perry from the office of Los Angeles County Supervisor Michael Antonovich and from a Parent Teacher Association representative from Wiley Canyon Elementary School.

July

Community Meeting Summary – 7/15/2014
 
At the Shepherd of the Hills Church in Porter Ranch, the Aliso Canyon Turbine Replacement (ACTR) Project Management and Aliso Canyon Facility Management, LA Regional Public Affairs, Media & Communications and SoCal Edison collaborated to provide community residents with an update on the ACTR project and inform them of ongoing operations at the facility. Approximately, 30 to 35 Porter Ranch residents attended. Construction on the guardhouse relocation and the facility electric distribution circuit was completed in the fourth quarter of 2014. The office relocation construction is underway with grading operations scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2015. Site preparation for the new central compressor station has also begun. Construction on the compressor station, Southern California Edison’s substation, and subtransmission modifications are scheduled to begin in October 2014. Estimated completion is late 2016.
Additional guests were; Brian Gavidia - Porter Ranch Neighborhood Council Board Member, District representative for U.S. Congressman Tony Cardenas, Max Reyes, district representative for Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti.

Community Meeting Summary – 3/2014
 

Aliso Canyon Facility Operations Management, Media & Employee Communications and RPA came together to provide Porter Ranch residents/stakeholders, with a presentation focused on the Aliso Canyon Turbine Replacement Project (ACTRP). Approximately 18-20 guests attended from the Porter Ranch community and Porter Ranch Neighborhood Council.  Additional guests were Matthew Vallecilla-District Representative-U.S. Congressman Sherman, Max Reyes-District Representative-LA Mayor Garcetti, and Ron Rubine-District Representative-LA Councilman Englander.
