Hal D. Snyder
Hal D. Snyder is a vice president of Southern California Gas Company (SoCalGas), a Sempra Energy regulated California utility. He is responsible for ensuring the smooth transition of his former responsibilities as chief human resources and administrative officer prior to his upcoming retirement.
Snyder has held a variety of management positions in business development, operations, marketing, engineering and project management since joining Sempra Energy in 1984. He previously served as vice president, customer solutions for SoCalGas and oversaw customer programs promoting energy efficiency, sustainability, low-income assistance and the development of new emerging technologies, including clean transportation, distributed energy, in-home services and biofuels. He also managed major customer-related activities, including account executives and customer communications.
From 2004 to 2007, Snyder was vice president, gas storage, transmission and distribution for SoCalGas and San Diego Gas & Electric, and from 1998 to 2004, he held various management positions at Sempra International and led the company development efforts in Canada, Mexico and South America.
Snyder serves on the board of directors of the California Science Center, dean’s advisory council of the California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) College of Engineering and executive advisory committee of TELACU. He has a master's degree in business administration from Pepperdine University and a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from CSULB.
