Submit an application for residential new construction if you need to establish natural gas service by installing new pipeline and/ or meter(s) to a residential construction site that did not have prior service, or to re-establish natural gas service by installing pipeline and/or meter(s) to a structure that was demolished and will be rebuilt.
You may also submit this application if your project involves replacing a SoCalGas meter with a larger capacity meter (meter upsize) due to the installation of additional natural gas appliances on your residential site.
Permits for construction must be secured before completing this application.

Submit an application for non-residential new construction if you need to establish natural gas service by installing new pipeline and/ or meter(s) to a non-residential construction site that did not have prior service, or to re-establish natural gas service by installing pipeline and/or meter(s) to a structure that was demolished and will be rebuilt.
You may also submit this application if your project involves replacing a SoCalGas meter with a larger capacity meter (meter upsize) due to the installation of additional natural gas appliances on your non-residential site.

A non-residential new construction project meeting the criteria outlined below may receive line extension allowances (credits for natural gas usage) and/or a 10-year refundable payment option or a 50-percent discount payment option after review by SoCalGas and approval by the CA Public Utilities Commission.

The exception Application deadline is March 1st of each year. Applications received after March 1st may not have sufficient preparation time for the current July 1st CPUC application submission. If eligible, these applications will be considered for submission the following year.

Submit an application for modification of existing natural gas service if you have a project that involves relocating or modifying an existing SoCalGas-owned pipeline and/or meter for a home or commercial/ industrial facility, or if you need to abandon an existing SoCalGas-owned pipeline on a property where a structure will be demolished.
We recommend submitting this application before starting your home or commercial/industrial facility improvement project. Permits for construction must be secured before completing this application.
