2020 Community Outreach

SEE WHAT WE HAVE BEEN DOING TO SUPPORT THE COMMUNITIES IN OUR SERVICE AREA.

In 2020, SoCalGas donated more than $9 million to nonprofit organizations throughout our service area to improve the quality of life in the communities we serve.

Together, the Sempra Energy family of companies – including our sister utility San Diego Gas and Electric and the Sempra Energy Foundation – stepped up with a total of $39 million to those in need in 2020. We want to do everything we can to support our community during this time, especially the most vulnerable. In 2020, SoCalGas donated more than $3.5 million to nonprofit organizations throughout our service area to support the region's workforce, feed the hungry, and provide bill assistance to customers most affected by COVID-19.

Our efforts aim to help those in our community who may have been laid off and individuals and families facing food insecurity during this time. We also increased our funding for the Gas Assistance Fund, a program managed by United Way of Greater Los Angeles that helps families in need pay for their utility bills.
