Near-Zero Emission Natural Gas Trucks
On June 25, 2014, a seminar co-sponsored by SoCalGas® and the South Coast Air Quality Management District addressed the challenges and opportunities California faces in meeting its ozone and greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets.
Speakers highlighted how natural gas and renewable natural gas blends as transportation fuels paired with near zero-emission engine technologies can significantly reduce emissions and help California meet its clean air targets.
- Pathways to Near Zero-Emission Natural Gas Heavy-Duty Vehicles (PDF) – Cliff Gladstein, president, Gladstein, Neandross & Associates –Overview of how near zero-emission natural gas engine technologies can play a major role in helping California achieve its air quality and climate protection goals.
- The Benefits of Renewable Natural Gas (PDF) – Julia Levin, executive director, Bioenergy Association of California – Addresses the potential impact of biofuel in the drive for a low-carbon future.
- Air Quality and Near Zero-Emission, Heavy-Duty Natural Gas Engines (PDF) – Matt Miyasato, deputy executive officer for science and technology advancement, South Coast Air Quality Management District – Discusses the immediacy of finding solutions to Southern California’s air quality challenges and outlines advances in natural gas engine technology.
