Thousand Oaks - Pipeline Replacement

Natural gas is critical to providing an affordable and reliable energy source for heat, water heating and cooking to homes and businesses, and SoCalGas® is dedicated to maintaining the safety and integrity of our natural gas pipelines.  We routinely perform various pipeline maintenance and safety tasks, including patrolling, inspecting, testing, and repairing and replacing pipelines.  By enhancing our system it helps us continue to provide the reliable natural gas service our customers count on.

There is a construction project to upgrade the natural gas distribution pipelines in Thousand Oaks.

Project Details

  • Start Date: October 12, 2020
  • Estimated End Date: May 1, 2021

Construction is a multi-segment project occurring simultaneously:

Segment One

Work Area: Segment one started at the intersection of Elmwood Street and Maplewood Avenue and continues north along Maplewood Avenue onto Maplewood Court. Phase one also includes Firwood Court, beginning at the corner of American Oaks Avenue and Firwood Court. Construction will conclude at the end of Firwood Court.

Start Date: January 4, 2021

Estimated Completion Date: May 1, 2021

Segment Two

Work Area: Segment two started at the intersection of Elmwood Street and American Oaks Avenue and continues north along American Oaks Avenue where it will turn west along Lodgewood Street. Construction will conclude at the end of Lodgewood Street.

Start Date: October 12, 2020

Estimated Completion Date: May 1, 2021

Segment Three

Work Area: Segment three started  at the intersection of S. Wendy Drive and Lodgewood Street and continues west on Lodgewood Street. Construction will turn north onto American Oaks Avenue and will end at the corner of American Oaks Avenue and Felton Street.

Start Date: January 11, 2021

Estimated Completion Date: March 26, 2021

What to expect:

  • SoCalGas and its contractors’ trucks and heavy equipment will be in the area
  • Lane closures will only be in effect during the work hours and will be marked with traffic cones, flag personnel and/or signage
  • Construction and/or operational noise from equipment and personnel
  • Driveways will remain accessible during construction
