Benefits of Working with Us

Steps to Doing Business with Us

SoCalGas Employee
1. Set Up Your Supplier Profile

Register in our Supplier Portal to receive invitations to events and programs. Completing a profile will also allow opportunities for your company to potentially be added on a bidder list for upcoming Request for Proposals (RFPs).

2. Get Certified as a Diverse Business

If your business qualifies, apply for certification through the Supplier Clearinghouse (SCH).

3. Confirm Safety Compliance

Ensure your company meets required safety standards. Some suppliers may need certification from ISNetworld (ISN), a safety compliance platform.

4. Activate Your Ariba Account

Sign up for free on Ariba, our supplier management system, for your Ariba Network ID. This step speeds up onboarding if you’re invited to an RFP and awarded a contract.

5. Connect and Build

Attend SoCalGas networking events to meet prime contractors and key business teams. Use these opportunities to start building connections, then follow up afterward to maintain relationships. Staying in touch helps you learn about upcoming projects and stay informed about new opportunities.

Supplier Development and Engagement

Supplier Quick Pay Program (SQPP)

We continue to offer electronic payments with modified payment terms of net 15 days to small, local, and/or diverse firms with $5 million or less in annual revenue and no more than 25 employees, facilitating improved cash flow and enhanced financial planning.

Technical Assistance Programs (TAP)

We continue to invest in supplier development programs designed for broad participation and accessibility, offering both in-person and virtual options. By aligning the content of TAPs to business needs, SoCalGas curates purposeful development opportunities for a wide array of businesses.

Business Showcases

Our business showcases introduce specific company projects to potential bidders. These SoCalGas-hosted events occur prior to large project bids and allow small, local, and/or diverse firms to present their capabilities and expertise to our project teams and prime suppliers. The intent is to cultivate new relationships and create opportunities for small, local, and/or diverse subcontractors and prime suppliers for RFPs.

Meet the Primes

Our Meet the Primes events connect prime contractors with small local, and/or diverse suppliers to explore sub-contracting opportunities, network and build potential business partnerships. The program features panel discussions, workshops, and matchmaking sessions designed to create meaningful connections. Such events highlight the value of collaboration between primes and subcontractors and our commitment to increasing supplier engagement and expanding participation of small, local, and/or diverse businesses within our supply chain.
