Nov. 5 2026
On Saturday, Oct. 17, SoCalGas joined thousands of residents, local businesses and community organizations along historic Crenshaw Boulevard for the 21st Annual Taste of Soul Family Festival. The annual celebration featured food, music, entertainment and resources for the community.
SoCalGas has participated in Taste of Soul since the festival's inaugural year in 2005, providing an opportunity to connect directly with customers and community leaders and celebrate the culture and spirit of South Los Angeles.

Connecting Customers with Resources
Throughout the festival, SoCalGas employees and volunteers welcomed attendees at the company's booth, engaging with community members and sharing information about programs and services available to customers. Team SoCalGas and members of VIBE, one of the company’s employee resource groups, helped staff the booth and connect with attendees throughout the day.
Customers had an opportunity to learn about programs designed to help eligible households manage their energy costs, including the California Alternate Rates for Energy (CARE) program and the Energy Savings Assistance Program. Employees also shared information about the Medical Baseline Allowance Program, Gas Assistance Fund, energy-saving resources and natural gas safety.
With affordability top of mind for many families, events like Taste of Soul provide an important opportunity to connect customers directly with information about programs and resources that may help.
Showing Up for the Communities We Serve
SoCalGas employees also volunteered throughout the day, helping with event activities from setup to welcoming festivalgoers. Members of VIBE leadership represented SoCalGas during the festival's on-stage sponsor recognition.
For nearly 160 years, SoCalGas has served communities across Southern California. Events like Taste of Soul provide an opportunity to listen to customers, strengthen community connections and help people access resources that can make a difference.
