Ontario Water Intrusion – Impacted Area Map

2252 S Euclid Ave, Ontario, California 91762

Background:
On Saturday, March 7, SoCalGas received reports of service outages near 2252 S Euclid Ave. in the city of Ontario.

SoCalGas crews responded quickly and discovered a broken water main that caused water intrusion into natural gas infrastructure serving the area.

To safely begin repair work, crews turned off natural gas service to the impacted area, resulting in temporary service interruptions to approximately 2,262 residential and business customers.

Since Saturday, SoCalGas crews have worked diligently to safely remove water from natural gas infrastructure, complete needed repair work, provide information to the community, and begin service restorations.

Approximately 20,000 gallons of water have been extracted from the natural gas infrastructure.

Today, more than 225 SoCalGas employees were on site completing repairs, beginning customer service restorations, and conducting customer outreach. SoCalGas expects over 300 employees to be on site tomorrow, Wednesday, March 11.

So far, service has been restored to approximately 256 customers.

SoCalGas is working towards completing all restoration work by the end of the week.

Restoration Process:
Safely restoring natural gas service is a multi-step process. Water must be removed from SoCalGas’ natural gas lines, individual residential lines, and natural gas meters at each property.

This requires a skilled SoCalGas technician to visit each property and perform safety checks inside and outside the home or business.

For safety reasons, customers should not try to restore natural gas service on their own. SoCalGas crews and technicians will assist customers with service restorations.

An adult over 18 must be present during restoration. The process will take one to two hours.

If a customer suspects a gas leak, we encourage that customer to safely evacuate the area before calling SoCalGas at 1-800-427-2200, 24 hours a day, seven days a week; or before dialing 911.
