This event is an opportunity for you to share your thoughts regarding this application to an Administrative Law Judge and/or Commissioner overseeing the hearing.

WHAT IS BEING REQUESTED?
SoCalGas is requesting an increase in revenue of $485 million or 10.5% from 2027-2028 to enhance safety, modernize and maintain the natural gas system, meet compliance requirements driven by government regulations, improve technology, and address rising costs like insurance. SoCalGas is also seeking a formula to address inflation and additional capital investments that, if approved, will increase revenues for 2029-2031 by an additional 5.5-6.2% annually.
HOW WOULD THIS IMPACT THE AVERAGE RESIDENTIAL RATEPAYER?
If the requested amount is approved, the average residential customer using 35 therms per month would see a rate increase of approximately $5.67 per month. The actual impact will vary based on usage, baseline territory, and other factors.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
An administrative law judge will hold hearings, consider evidence, testimony, and public comments before drafting a proposed decision on this application. CPUC Commissioners will then vote on a final decision at a public meeting.
