Chief Talent and Culture Officer
Erin M. Smith is chief talent and culture officer for Southern California Gas Company (SoCalGas), a Sempra regulated California utility. She is responsible for talent and human resources strategies that create sustainable business advantages aligned to SoCalGas’ mission to build the cleanest, safest and most innovative energy company in America. Smith’s key areas of focus include recruitment and growth, and development of the talent and culture to support SoCalGas’ leadership position in California’s clean energy future.
Smith joined SoCalGas in late 2020. Prior to that, she was a partner and employment general counsel at Loeb and Loeb, LLP, where she focused on litigation and transactional employment matters, as well as the creation of employment policies.
Smith serves on the board of the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce and is a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association and holds court admissions from several U.S. Court districts and the U.S. Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, San Diego and a law degree from the University of Southern California Gould School of Law.
