Rob Borthwick, Senior Vice President and General Counsel
Robert Borthwick is senior vice president and general counsel for Southern California Gas Company (SoCalGas) and San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E). Borthwick provides leadership over the legal, risk and compliance functions at both Sempra-regulated utilities. Previously, he was Sempra’s chief risk officer overseeing the organization’s compliance, risk management, sustainability, corporate security and cybersecurity efforts. His extensive knowledge of Sempra’s business and operations enabled him to provide sound, strategic counsel to mitigate risk and drive strong business outcomes. During his tenure with the Sempra family of companies, Borthwick served in various leadership roles across Sempra’s three growth platforms.
