Monthly Billing Factor

The billing factor is a number or adjuster used to convert the amount of gas registered on the meter to therms for billing purposes. The billing factor adjusts the amount of gas measured for differences in delivery pressure, altitude and meter calibration. A meter calibration adjustment factor may be incorporated in the Billing Factor. If used, the calibration factor corrects small meter registration inaccuracies, effectively reducing the recorded registration by 2%. A message will be provided at the top of your bill if this meter calibration adjustment factor is applied to your bill account. The BTU factor adjusts the amount of gas measured to reflect the heating content of gas.
