SoCalGas is working to provide every customer with safe, reliable and affordable energy delivery today, while also being ready for tomorrow. Natural gas provides reliable and affordable heating, hot water, and cooking to millions of Southern California homes and businesses. To protect the integrity of its energy system, SoCalGas routinely performs various pipeline safety and maintenance tasks, including testing, repairing, replacing, and upgrading of its pipelines. 

Below are some of the projects currently underway.

Castaic

On Saturday, December 27, 2025, SoCalGas detected a natural gas pipeline break in the community of Castaic.

This property will serve as a permanent location for inspections and related equipment, allowing SoCalGas to move these activities off public streets and reduce future disruptions for neighbors and commuters.
